FAUX CULTIAN?

Pop Culture [*] and big Do Do!

[Source threads: [A], [B].

[I should note that I have not even caught Mad Men or The Wire but they might be following us and I allude to the deeper threads, which just might hinge on the word reconstruction as much as deconstruction.]

[Hint: "PC" is a Beckian tangent(wisecrack or side crack), while "Do Do" is a mess age we are in and must "read" as "well/to do". P.S. not pronounced "doh, doh" but that is another tangent or non-dough dew.]
[P.S.2.0 my "original intent" was to avoid "a ribble", but it could be unavoidable without a revamping of Keynesian economics or at least an imparting of Try-Go-No Metrics.]

* Update 5-6-10 P.C. Explained see Hint link added under "Beckian".

If only it was as simple as "enter" or hit any key,
but nevertheless the pages turn *. I have left open the past-or-gate**, and not closed many threads before, but for the time being, I will link to a comment that is rather fanciful or touching on a few ideas that weave through the myth of history.

* speaking of the afterlife, some links are dead (Red Labeling - Obama Baiting -)[valid reference- lost truthout link] yet we are about to move on [Hillary?].

** Obama has left one church, Lieberman may be considering affiliating with another

[lastly from below link - and to above few ideas:
Real conservatism cannot aspire to lofty principles, because its task is to defend what already exists. The conservative dilemma is that conservatism's legitimacy can come only from being proved right by events, whereas liberals, whenever they are proved wrong, have universal principles to fall back on. Samuel Huntington has always held liberal ideals. But he knows that such ideals cannot survive without power, and that power requires careful upkeep.]

Mission Accomplished

(AP photo see link)
A case of colors.
The Wall Street Journal is not necessarily the first source for Obama flag waving, but the lede is this: Obama Lauds Troops as Iraq War Winds Up. But under my ledership*, I must note that "Mr. Obama was careful not to declare victory." But Colonel Wilkerson and Rachel Maddow rally** my reasons for the lede here. "Hooah!"

[Nor black and white, but here are four perspectives. This is a deeply embedded line. It is about working together and leadership, not without ledership. The gist of it is in regards to the process of crafting good documents(let alone with imperfect people). As in what the heck is Obama doing, let alone Ron Wyden, or Rand Paul.(or Keynes/Hayek) The most important ingredient in these threads is the people, their understanding, and elections that matter. Issues bring the people to the table, and the ballot box.]
[No Horsing around.]
[*]Well maybe a little horsing around. But with respect to follow-up to Awkward Segue, and "four perspectives"(text today) I note that Norman Goldman addresses the NDAA, and was looking forward to Randy Rhodes giving her perspective, but David Sirota was sitting in.]

"It's my turn"[!]

...is what came to mind as I saw Romney frame the race as a decision between the three winners of the last three contests. That's what Ron Paul(8:45) should say. Or maybe Herman Cain or Stephen Colbert should say it**. I am in the process of watching last night's debate on CNN and Rick Santorum (9:10)kicked off the debate with a thread that crosses another thought I had during the introductions, "We are a country of laws".* Actually Ron Paul had already started a few threads in his introduction, we are not nation builders. Romney(15:58) stands up to a Gingrich charge or rather a question on rhetoric and deals with it in legal terms. My original thought had to do with the irony of the conservative nature, but Gingrich is almost a false flag of rhetoric.

* quoting Santorum, not my thought or thread which I may have lost, but laws are the thread of building our nation

BTW- Not necessarily the missing thought: but in regards to Romney's financial reporting, does it bode well for his credit as a business leader, let alone maker of laws? I mean the mis-reporting, and his math regarding taxes and charitable contributions adding up at times to 40 to 45%?
[related irony (slash) update: what I thought was a churned media book event, may turn out to be good for the debate. What can we learn from Arizona? Will we take her up on it? Will the NAACP take Newt up on his charge? Just how do we demand paychecks*** over food stamps? Is it as easy as rhetoric?]

Crisis in Austrian Thought

Re-Evolutionally the missing link[!]
The crisis in thought is a split ideology regarding who is in charge, by George[!]
Think Washington the figure, not the DC or state. A founding father for sure, but the crisis is in leadership, and perspectives on the founding documents, not to mention Democratic Character.
Alex Witt's topics cross these threads. Including an MD/rX of DC?

{"crisis in leadership" Boehner, Bain or Bane or change. Mitch Daniels, not to mention Harold Ford Jr. }
[Breaking E-Mail: I haven't even read what it means but it might be the missing thought.]

[1-30-12: adding links, crisis,(2)(3)(4)* Ford, leadership**, there is a reason there are three branches of government and one is called the legislative, and it is not the executive's job to legislate, besides they can see the legislative ideas if they bit 'em.]

**Boehner: “Last Night Was Just Another Campaign Speech.” “He [President Obama] wants to take no responsibility for his policies that have failed and made no reference last night to really stepping into the game and legislating. He has spent every day since last Labor Day campaigning - not legislating, not involved in the process of our government here. And last night was just another – another campaign speech.”
*** this comes closest (sausage grinder?)
[Bottom line: there are two Austrian perspectives that come to mind, the economic and the psychological.]

High Road or Low Road?

and then there is the Bridge to Nowhere.
Family matters! But country first?
Enough! I will have to look back to see if I am off track.
The Family Values Party seems to have vetted family as an issue.
But have they vetted freedom? Freedom of information? Not to mention freedom of speech? The media plays a huge part in this, but which side are they on?
Does freedom have a side? Does information?

Of course these are just threads. That does not make them just.
But it does not mean they don't need to be followed a bit more.
Backgrounds matter. Or do they?

"Maverick" was a TV show and McCain admits being addicted to "24" * unless someone was joshing. "24" is the modern version of "Mission Impossible". A fantasy based too closely on reality. I have not followed Jack Bauer for some time, but just which Maverick is McCain. The gambler or the ladies man?

Both McCain and Palin have the far right lifting their spirits with their own bootstraps. Will the media vet the facts? Or does vet mean, being vetted of facts.

Irony versus Hypocrisy

Smackdown: Shuster Nails Ari Fleischer over GOP Hypocrisy
Shuster gives as good as he takes, but the irony is that Fleischer is there arguing over the childishness of Obama when Rush is not elected by the people, and neither is he. So the Catch 44 is that if Obama is wrong for painting the Republicans with a Rush Brush, then MSNBC is wrong for presenting unelected spokespeople for the Republicans, however it is the nature of the media to try to present both sides, and the nature of the Republicans to use Joe the Plumbers.
Speaking of plumbers and whose job it is...
Several links having filtered through my email box unprofessionally*
bridge the spectrum and filling the bill.

I will not unembed the threads but leap to the next field so to speak.

A more selective approach browsing the TED forum, a spin on the technology of politics and religion by Noah Feldman presents a preemptive perspective on hope. Having viewed less than two minutes, I noted before logging out, the following:(Unmodified but for one dash)
The third leg if not noted here is Economics and the Point is Justice or the fulcrum the Law. Values and their management is the key. Balancing the tetrahedron of flip-flop so to speak. The hour glass of consumption or conservation. Economics Politics Religion Law for the People - Executive, Legislative, Judiciary for the people and the point of balance.

I had my own preemptive concerns which need to be upgraded [3-6-09]and revisited, but how does this connect to the above?(a pun on hierarchy?) Facing choices and nemeses, not to mention the connection to things being in their place, whether fields or technologies and who uses what or whom and for what. Further search may dig up a reference to direct cause ofor[***] systems.

But prepost I read: Staving Off a Great Depression by Dean Baker The Guardian UK and where does this fit? In the fear or faith options; or fight or flight, excuse or blame sections. But I propose that the numbers game be given international scope[Update **].
[UPDATE 3-20-09: The following section remains in its original form but for bold. See BINGO which follows to where it relates to the nature of preemption.]
The honesty of the new budget and accounting now includes the war on terror which was not on the books. So rather than the declare a win or lose the economy bifurcation, the new accounting must include the soft power ingredients that do not come free. I have not seen where this is said, but it should and probably has been or will be.
[BINGO! or rather none other than Warren Buffet gets it.]

*i.e. by friendly nemesies however undivinely.

** Update International Scope and a new link at revisited: "Panarin insisted he didn't wish for a U.S. collapse, but he predicted Russia and China would emerge from the economic turmoil stronger and said the two nations should work together, even to create a new currency to replace the U.S. dollar." This guy may be the Rush of Russia but he could be on the same page as Putin, while I feel that economics may be the bailiwick of the Rumpole. "She who must be obeyed" and changed.

D-Day

Yesterday was a hecuva*** day,

My point is that there were three major events yesterday.

Primary Boogeyman

Rule to the Exception.
Freedom / Hardball
Mitt Romney wins, Paul 2nd, Huntsman 3rd.
Gingrich and South Carolina next.
Huntsman ticket to ride or flavor of moment?

Yeah that's the ticket, but here is even more.

There is the old adage "divide and conquer",
but then there is the exception that proves the rule.
If Republican political calculus is anything, it is attack strength.
Economic Freedom is the key.
What it means, is the meme.
Absolutism may be the red flag of the Teddy Bull,
but the cape* of the progressive.

*Ctrl F "Nietzsche"

[Romney indeed made history as the first non-incumbent Republican to win both Iowa and New Hampshire, but given recent history, Fukuyama and the Neo-cons, it seems to fit the Primary Boogeyman frame, not to mention unprecedented Bush the Uniter.]

[1-11-12 CBS Christie Does Cynical Well, "Jersey-Style" **
CBS Poll Romney beats Obama,
Michelle Beats Anger.]
[My original intent here yesterday, was a Primary Colors reference, and a pun on Exception to Rule, not The Rule, but don't step on my blue suede shoes. (Reference post-**)]

[** I mean the Governor of New Jersey does "lame" well, if as Romney's "hit man" he is accusing Obama of not doing anger well.  Is that Neo-Boogeyman?  A flip-flop of the Doom and Gloom, and more of the Fear and Smear.  Governor Christie is the Sarah Palin with Lip Schtick.  Ouch, that was not to imply that he is a VP choice, but given the frame maybe.  When I use Hyperlink, I use Hyperlink. ]

[4a continued:  Freedom is not a tool***, but an end that doesn't justify economics.  This is my riff off of only the 1st paragraph of The Economist, on Economic blogs and "A less dismal debate." After reading it more fully(see ***) a funny thing happened on the way to the for 'em.  Actually it only hinges on the "tool" concept and the nature of "innovation" and the nature of economic debates.  Not that I have more than glanced at the debate example, but it also hinges on the nature of people as well as material or ideological forms.]
*** again note anacronism of 4m (see asterisks and bracketeds) as I evolved the post comma segment.[being in magazine 4m another one of the 4a.] (Note technical difficulties, uncertain if any threads or hyperlinks are lost, but I close in the middle of reading Marginal Revolutionaries in hard copy.)]
